True mirror online

Use this true mirror online to see your face the way a camera records it, not reversed like a bathroom mirror. Switch between mirror, true, side-by-side and halves views, freeze a frame and save it, all in your browser.

What is a true mirror online?

A regular mirror flips your reflection left to right, so the face you know best is a reversed one. A physical true mirror uses two mirrors at a right angle to cancel that flip. A true mirror online does the same job with your camera or a photo: it shows the image in its original orientation, so a parting, a smile or a mole appears on the side other people see it.

Four ways to compare your reflection

Mirror flips the whole frame horizontally, like the mirror at home. True shows the un-flipped image. Side by side places both versions of the same instant next to each other. Halves builds two pictures by reflecting each side of your face across a fitted midline, which makes small differences between the sides easy to spot.

Run the face symmetry test

Why your true mirror face can look strange

Most people see themselves almost only in mirrors, so a non-reversed view swaps every small asymmetry to the other side and can feel slightly off. That reaction is familiarity, not a change in your face. After a few minutes of comparing both views, the true version usually starts to look normal.

Choose the comparison you need

Mirror reflects the whole frame horizontally. True displays the unreflected input. Text or an asymmetric background can help you check the difference.

Side by side places a mirrored view next to the original from the same instant. Halves instead constructs two images by reflecting each side around the detected face axis.

Why use our true mirror online?

Phone cameras often mirror the preview and sometimes save the photo flipped as well, so it is hard to know which version you are looking at. This true mirror online labels every view, keeps the live feed and the saved frame clearly apart, and lets you switch orientation instantly.

Orientation changes, the halves view and PNG export all run in your browser. The camera feed is not recorded and your photo is not uploaded, and no account or app install is needed. The optional full report has its own upload consent step.

Live camera or a photo you already have

Start your webcam or phone camera for a live true mirror, or open a selfie to check whether it was saved flipped. A still photo needs no camera permission at all, which also helps when a browser blocks camera access.

Try the canthal tilt test
An orientation comparison is not an outside viewpoint

A flat camera image depends on lens distance, light, expression and pose. Flipping it does not reveal depth, rotate your head or reproduce exactly what another person sees. Neither orientation is a verdict on your appearance.

How to use the true mirror online in 3 steps

  1. 1. Start your camera or open a photo

To start the true mirror online, press Use camera and allow access, or choose one clear photo. The source label tells you whether you are seeing a live feed, a frozen frame or the generated example. Face the camera at eye level in even light for the clearest comparison.

    Measure your pupillary distance
  2. 2. Switch between mirror and true views

Flip between Mirror and True, or use Side by side to see both at once. For Halves, confirm adult photo use and keep one face level and fully visible; if landmarks are uncertain the view stays unavailable rather than guessing.

    Check your golden ratio face
  3. 3. Freeze the frame and save a PNG

Freeze captures a real camera frame, and Save PNG exports the selected view with readable labels. Resume returns to the live camera and Stop releases it. Saved images stay on your device unless you share them yourself.

True mirror online FAQ

What is a true mirror?

A true mirror shows your face without the left-right flip of a normal mirror. Physical versions join two mirrors at a right angle; this true mirror online un-flips a camera feed or photo instead, so you see the same orientation as a photo taken of you.

How to use a true mirror?

Open the true mirror online with your camera or a photo, switch to the True view and look at details that are easy to place, such as your hair parting or a freckle. Then flip back to Mirror to see how the two orientations differ.

How does a true mirror work?

A physical one reflects light twice, so the two flips cancel out. A digital one simply displays the camera image without the horizontal flip that most selfie previews add.

How to make a true mirror with your phone?

Open this page in your phone browser, tap Use camera and choose the True view. You do not need a separate true mirror app, and you can freeze and save the frame.

Is a true mirror how others see you?

It shows the orientation others see, which a normal mirror reverses. It cannot reproduce everything, though: people see you in motion, from different angles and distances, while a camera gives one flat image through one lens.

Is the true mirror accurate?

The orientation in a true mirror online is exact, but lens distance, focal length and lighting still shape the picture. A phone held close to your face makes the nose look larger, so hold it at arm's length or farther for a fairer view.

Is this true mirror online free?

Yes. The camera and photo views, halves, freeze and PNG export are free, with no sign-up and nothing to install.

What is the difference between a true mirror and a regular mirror?

A regular mirror reverses left and right, so raising your right hand looks like the left hand in the reflection. A true or non-reversing mirror keeps the right hand on the right, just like a photo.

Can I flip a photo to see the true mirror effect?

Yes. Open a selfie and toggle between Mirror and True. If text in the background reads backwards in True, your phone saved the selfie already flipped.

Can I use my webcam as a true mirror online?

Yes. Press Use camera, allow access and pick the True view. It works with laptop webcams and phone cameras in any modern browser over HTTPS.

What do the Side by side and Halves views show?

Side by side compares the mirrored and true versions of one frame. Halves reflects each side of your face across a fitted midline to make two doubled-half pictures; it is a visual comparison, not a symmetry score.

Can I freeze the camera and save a picture?

Yes. Freeze captures a real frame and Save PNG exports the view you chose; saving while live freezes first. Photos you open are already still.

What if my camera will not start?

Allow camera permission, close other apps that use the camera and make sure the page runs over HTTPS. You can always open a photo instead.

Is my camera recorded or my photo uploaded?

No. Nothing is recorded or uploaded; orientation, halves and PNG export run in your browser. Only the optional report can upload a chosen frame, after its own consent step.
