What is a lash map?
A lash map is a plan that divides the lash line into zones, usually from the inner corner to the outer corner, and assigns a length to each one. Lash artists use a lash map before applying extensions or clusters so the finished set lifts the eye in the right place. This lash map tool builds that plan from your photo: five zones, five classic styles and a length sequence you can take to your appointment.
Five classic lash map styles
Natural follows the existing line (8, 9, 10, 11, 10 mm). Doll peaks in the centre for a rounder look (8, 10, 12, 10, 8). Open lifts the middle and outer area (9, 11, 12, 12, 10). Cat eye builds towards the outer corner (8, 9, 10, 12, 13), and squirrel peaks just before it (8, 10, 12, 13, 11).
Check your eye shapeMatched to your eye shape
The tool measures how open your eyes look, the angle between the inner and outer corners, each eye width in millimetres and the gap between your eyes. Downturned eyes are given the open map, upturned eyes the squirrel map, round eyes the cat eye map and almond eyes the natural map, and close-set or wide-set eyes get a note on which maps rebalance the spacing.

Why use our lash map tool?
Generic lash map charts treat every eye the same. This lash map starts from your own eye geometry, explains why a style was suggested and keeps the photo on your device. It is a planning aid for you and your lash artist, not a substitute for their assessment of your natural lashes.

The landmark scan and the recommendation run in your browser. Nothing is uploaded and no account is needed. Save the current map as a short text summary or open the printable practice sheet with the same style.
Read the privacy policyA clear millimetre sequence
Each lash is drawn on your photo at its real length, scaled from the size of your iris, with the millimetre value beside it. You can shorten or lengthen the whole set by up to 2 mm, choose your lid type and natural lash strength for curl and thickness suggestions, and save the map as an image or text for your lash artist.

Lash map FAQ
What is a lash map?
A lash map is a zone-by-zone plan of lash lengths across the eye, from the inner corner to the outer corner. It tells the artist where the set should be shortest and longest, which decides whether the result looks natural, rounded or lifted at the outer corner.
How to lash map for beginners?
Split the lash line into five zones, choose a style and write a length in each zone, shortest at the inner corner. Start with the natural map, which follows the existing lash line, and practise on the printable sheet before working on a client.
How to know what lash map to use?
Look at your eye shape and the angle of your eye corners. Downturned eyes usually suit an open map, upturned eyes a squirrel map, round eyes a cat eye map and almond eyes most maps. This lash map tool measures both from a photo and suggests one.
How to map lash clusters?
Use the same zones: place shorter clusters at the inner corner and follow the lengths of your chosen map towards the outer corner. The millimetre sequence from this tool works as a guide for picking cluster lengths.
How to read a lash map?
Read it from the inner corner to the outer corner. Each number is the lash length in millimetres for that zone. In this tool the inner corner is on the left and the outer corner is on the right.
What lash map is best for hooded eyes?
Hooded eyes usually suit an open or doll map that lifts the centre so lashes show below the lid fold, with an L or M curl. A photo cannot see the crease, so choose Hooded as your lid type and the tool switches its curl suggestion; compare the open and doll maps on your own eyes.
Is there a lash map app or generator?
This page works as a lash map generator in your browser, with no app to install. It reads your eye shape from a photo and generates the zone lengths for five styles.
Which lash map gives a natural look?
The natural map: 8, 9, 10, 11 and 10 mm, following the existing lash line and dropping slightly at the very outer corner.
Can I print a lash map guide?
Yes. Open the printable lash chart to print all five maps at true size, with a scale check, and trace them for practice.
Which lash map suits small eyes?
Maps that lift the centre, such as doll or open, make smaller eyes look larger. Avoid very long outer lengths that can pull the eye sideways. The tool measures your eye width in millimetres, so you can see how much room each zone actually has.
What lengths does each lash map use?
Natural 8/9/10/11/10, doll 8/10/12/10/8, open 9/11/12/12/10, cat eye 8/9/10/12/13 and squirrel 8/10/12/13/11 millimetres, inner to outer.
How does the tool recommend a map?
An average corner angle above +3° counts as upturned and below −3° as downturned. Otherwise an eye aspect of 0.34 or more counts as round, and anything lower as almond. Each profile maps to one recommended style.
