Automatic or hand-placed landmarks, lens perspective and head rotation affect every value. These are approximate two-dimensional photo observations, not millimeter measurements, clinical cephalometry, diagnosis or a prediction of procedure outcomes.
Side Profile Rating
Get a side profile rating you can actually read. Upload one side-on photo, check the points placed along your outline, and see your facial convexity, nose and lip angles, both lips against the E-line, profile thirds and nose shape, all measured in your browser.
Side profile measurements
Use a clear side-on portrait against a plain background. Points are placed automatically along your outline; drag any of them to correct it, then read the measured angles and ratios.
Your photo is prepared and measured in your browser. The outline search is plain image processing and the hairline uses an on-device hair segmentation model. Your photo and markers are not uploaded.

What is a side profile rating?
A side profile rating looks at the outline of your face from the side: how the forehead, nose, lips and chin line up. Many sites reduce that to a single opaque score. This side profile rating traces your outline, places up to eleven reference points and reports the angles orthodontists and profile guides commonly discuss, each next to its typical adult range, plus a balance number that simply counts how many readings fall inside those ranges.
Angles, lip lines and thirds
Facial convexity (forehead–nose base–chin) shows whether the profile is convex, balanced, flat or concave. The nasofrontal and nasolabial angles describe the nose root and tip, the mentolabial angle the curve below the lower lip, and both lips are measured against the E-line. With the hairline and chin bottom placed, the profile is split into thirds, and the nose bridge is classed as convex, straight or concave.
Rate your jawline from the frontPlaced automatically, corrected by you
The tool separates you from a plain background, follows your outline and suggests every point, using an on-device hair model to find the hairline. Front-facing face detectors struggle with true profiles, so nothing is locked: drag any point or use the arrow keys, and every reading updates immediately.

Why use our side profile rating?
Profile feedback online is often harsh and unexplained. This side profile rating gives you numbers with their definitions, keeps your photo on your device and is clear about what a single photo can and cannot show. Lens distance and head rotation change every profile angle, so it treats results as observations, not verdicts.
Private and AI-free
The photo is prepared and measured in your browser. It is not uploaded, no cloud AI sees it and no account is required. An adult-consent check is shown before you start, because profile photos are personal.
Read the privacy policyContext instead of a label
Each result comes with a note on how to read it, for example that a positive upper-lip value sits toward the nose side of the E-line. That context helps you compare photos fairly and ask better questions, whether you are curious, planning braces or talking to a specialist.
Preview a nose or chin changeHow to get your side profile rating in 3 steps
Use a true 90-degree side photo
Turn fully sideways so only one eye is visible, keep your head level and your expression neutral, and move hair away from the forehead and chin. A camera a few metres away with zoom gives a truer outline than a close selfie.
Check your front view in a true mirrorCheck the points on your outline
Points appear automatically from the forehead to under the chin. Check each one against the description, drag any that are off, and add the optional hairline, nose bridge, lower lip, lip–chin fold and chin-bottom points if they were not found.
Measure your canthal tiltRead the angles and the E-line
Review each angle with its typical range, the lip positions against the E-line, the profile thirds and the balance number. Save the annotated image, and compare two or three photos before drawing conclusions.

Side profile rating FAQ
Why is my side profile so ugly?
Usually it is the camera, not your face. Phone selfies taken close up exaggerate the nose and shrink the chin, and a slight head tilt changes every angle. Take a photo from a few metres away with zoom, measure it here and you will often find your profile is far more balanced than the selfie suggested.
How to improve side profile?
Posture helps immediately: keep your head stacked over your shoulders rather than pushed forward, and rest your tongue on the roof of your mouth. Hairstyle, beard shape and glasses also change how the profile reads. Structural changes such as orthodontics are decisions for a qualified specialist.
Is my side profile good?
A profile usually reads as balanced when the forehead, nose and chin follow a gentle curve and the lips sit close to the E-line. This side profile rating measures those features from your photo, but what looks good also depends on your face as a whole and on personal taste.
Is this side profile rating free online?
Yes. The side profile rating runs online in your browser for free, with no account or upload.
Is this an AI side profile rating?
No cloud AI is involved. The outline is traced with plain image processing in your browser, the hairline uses an on-device hair segmentation model, and the angles are geometry. You can correct every point by hand.
Does the side profile rating give a score out of 10 or a PSL?
No attractiveness score is given. The balance number is the share of your readings that fall inside typical adult ranges, so you can see exactly which angle moved it. For a broad 1–8 rating of the front view, use the PSL scale test.
Does the side profile rating work for men and women?
Yes. The measurements are the same for everyone; beards can hide the chin point, so trim or place the chin marker carefully.
Can I rate my front and side profile together?
This page covers the side view. For the front, use the face symmetry, jawline and golden ratio tools, or the full face analysis, and compare the results side by side.
What does the side profile rating measure?
Facial convexity, the nasofrontal, nasolabial and mentolabial angles, upper and lower lip distance to the E-line, nose projection and bridge shape, tip rotation and profile thirds, each with a typical range where one applies.
Which points are placed?
Eleven: hairline, forehead, nose root, nose bridge, nose tip, nose base, upper lip, lower lip, lip–chin fold, chin front and under the chin. The six from forehead to chin front are required; the rest add the extra readings.
What is the E-line?
The esthetic line runs from the nose tip to the front of the chin. Profile guides often look at how far the lips sit behind or in front of it.
What photo works best?
A true side view at eye level against a plain wall, taken from a distance with zoom, neutral expression, lips closed and hair clear of the forehead and chin. A plain background lets the outline be traced automatically.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The photo and your markers stay in your browser and are never uploaded.
